Get to know

WHAT ARE YOUR CORE DRIVES IN YOUR EVERYDAY WORK?

The thought that today I want to be or do better than yesterday

WHAT KIND OF CHANGE WOULD YOU LIKE TO BRING YOUR LOCAL& GLOBAL/REGIONAL LEVEL?

I would like to inspire a level of cooperation with those beyond our borders to drive integration and common understanding.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU THE MOST ABOUT BEING A PART OF YAGE AND DURING THE YAGE EVENTS?

Fresh of the Brexit vote of 2016 and moving to Paris in 2017, I joined YAGE in a way to realise a new form of European cooperation than highly inspired me. Being a part of YAGE it allowed me to connect to a new wave of interested Europeans or Greater Europeans which has deeply impacted my future career, interests and personal life.

WHICH USEFUL SKILLS DID YOU DEVELOP WHILE BEING INVOLVED IN YAGE?

Project management was a huge development that YAGE provided to me. Whilst running their Greater Europe Youth Theatre I learnt a lot about myself, working professionally and it remains one of my proudest moments. I’ve already put it to good use setting up the Institute for a Greater Europe, now an independent Organisation with members all across Europe and America.

WHICH IDEA OF GREATER EUROPE DO YOU ENVISION IN THE FUTURE?

Hands Together

I envision European integration on a wider, more inclusive scale. With all CIS, Balkan, Scandinavian countries and the UK ;)   in mutual dialogue about how Europe can be an independent and great actor on the world stage.

WHICH STRATEGIES COULD BE USED BY YOUNG PEOPLE TO INFLUENCE THE DECISION-MAKING IN INTERNATIONAL BODIES?

A lot of what young people can do is to share their research and opinions academically and socially, bringing forward this message of dialogue across borders to show politicians and entrenched parties that cooperation is not only possible but desirable.

It’s as we say at the Institute for a Greater Europe, a Europe Beyond Borders!

ARE YOU IN CONTACT WITH OTHER ALUMNI?

Yes! I’ve stayed in frequent contact with many alumni across Europe. As mentioned, the Institute for a Greater Europe was a great area to work with some alumni, and with the Greater Europe Youth Theatre our new project managed Nadiya is also an Alumni! We’ve also visited the European Youth Event together and run several other small events in the past.
